| You live in Australia. Could you possibly steal something from a store for me?
What do I want? Dragon Ball, Vol. 1: The Saga of Goku. This two-disc DVD set (which is uncut and in Japanese with English subs) never got released in the US due to licensing issues, even though the rest of the series got proper releases.
Preferably you could nab the two-disc set, or there's also a couple box sets that compile the whole series. I would need the first one, but if you're gonna steal one, you might as well steal the other.
Seriously though, consider it. Or, if you happen to find the two-disc set (it's VERY rare) at a reasonable price, new or used (the latter only if the condition is very good), buy it and I'll reimburse you, and pay for the shipping fee. Just make sure it's the Australian DVD set released by Madman Entertainment, and not any of the crappy American versions that are censored and English only.

| The box sets are readily available and I see them from time to time in stores. The two disc set you're after I don't think is available in stores. Well its not on one of the websites of one of our main dvd retailers. | |

| Are you at all familiar with the store DevotedDVD.com, and if so, is it reliable? I could get the two box sets there for about US$120 shipped, and then I'd just sell off my American DVDs. Which might actually end up being a good deal, considering some of the US sets go for a large sum of money, and I could make more money off of them than I originally paid. Only thing is, I might be bothered by the 4% PAL speedup, but I probably won't even notice it anyway. I have a couple PAL DVDs and I've never really noticed anything weird. | |

| I haven't heard of that online site at all. You could see if [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] will offer you a good price to order the box sets. | |

| EzyDVD is more expensive, by about 40 of my American dolluuuuuuuurz. :o
You should just steal them both for me. Seriously. Just get totally smashed, but not drunk enough to where you can't run away. Come on. Help out a friend.
Or actually, when browsing Google, I did find quite a few Australian libraries that have the original two-disc set. Seriously, if it isn't much trouble, I would love you forever if you were to borrow the first 13 episodes of the series from a library (assuming there's one near you that has it--if not, check the website, and you should be able to transfer the DVD from one library to yours) and then burn copies for me and mail 'em. Although I am curious to know how much it would cost to mail two discs from your place to mine... Might end up being more money than it's worth.
Or just borrow the DVD set, ship THAT to me, and then say some asshole American broke into your house, punched you in the fucking throat, and ran off with it back to the US. They'd TOOOOOTALLY believe it.

| Pshaw! For the original Dragon Ball! That show is hilarious.
Confusing DB with DBZ is like confusing a delicious chocolate bar with a turd.

| I had no idea that libraries carried dvds. I've never set foot into my public library now that I think of it. If I remember whilst I'm out I shall check around. I thought the box sets would end up being pretty cheap since our money has dropped to an all time low on the American market. | |

| They're fairly cheap, about $100 without shipping, but still gay and expensive.
I'll probably just buy the two box sets and sell my R1 DVDs, if they really do go for large sums of money. I'll have to peruse eBay for any ongoing auctions. In total, the DVDs will cost me like $120 with shipping, so if I can make all that back I'd be happy.

| Thats not too bad of a price. Considering most stores sell box sets around here for about the $120 mark. I think they've dropped a bit in price now but not by much. I'm hoping the economy picks back up soon so I can order cds from Amazon. Most of the cds on amazon are at least half the price of what Australian stores sell them for. | |

| Currently One Australian dollar buys 0.6073 American dollars. The main place for cds I shop at is random with their prices at times. But on average a new release cd is between $20-$30. I just go around the store and check the sales tables to see what's going cheap. I've gotten some good stuff from the sales tables. Sales tables for cds are usually $3-$10 per cd. | |

| Just bought the two sets for $184.19 AUD including shipping, which according to PayPal converts to $115.54 USD. When the sets get here, I'm just gonna burn copies of my R1 DVDs and then sell them. I checked eBay, and I only saw like two auctions going for two different DVDs, but one of them has 3 days left and is already up to $15.50, and the other also has 3 days left and is HOLY SHIT 7 BIDS AND CURRENTLY $45.01. I gotta watch these auctions and see how high they go. Looks like I could turn a really good profit here. | |

| Just what separates Dragon Ball from Dragon Ball Z? I've seen a handful of episodes of the dub for each, years ago, and I gathered that some of the characters are kids in Dragon Ball whereas they're adults in Dragon Ball Z. Is Dragon Ball Z pretty much the future of Dragon Ball? And where does GT fit into this? I've never been a Dragon Ball fan, but every single other kid in my 7th grade class was, so I don't know this stuff. | |

| Well, in Japan, the original manga was only called Dragon Ball (or Dragonball). It continued on and on throughout the life of Goku and others. There was no Dragon Ball Z until the anime was created, and they decided to give it a different name to make it distinguishable from the original series.
The differences lie in tone and themes. Dragon Ball is mostly an adventure story with a great deal of fighting and a whole lot of zany humor. DBZ is more about a whole shitload of fighting, some adventuring here and there, and the humor is still present but it's not quite as prominent.
In short, DB > DBZ | |

| I canceled my order because I want the money. My bro and I are getting an HDTV in the next couple of weeks.
So, Greeny, I'm in need of those first 13 episodes again. Steal the box sets!
The torrent download of 'em has slowly been finishing... There are currently no seeders, but one pops on occasionally. It's been several weeks now, and tonight he finally came back and I was hoping to get the thing finished, but then he disappeared at 99.0% complete.
:<
Only 36 MB left, and who knows how long it'll take to get that. But at least I can watch the episodes. There should only be maybe 30 seconds to a minute of missing footage for every gap, to which there are nine total amongst all 13 files. The video player just skips past those missing parts.

| Never even seen all of DBZ, nor even finished the original. Maybe I'll get into GT, like fifteen years from now. Probably how long it's gonna take me to finish up DB/Z. | |

Same, though I did watch a bit into the buu saga, mostly only the stuff involving Gohan and Videl, because I thought it'd lead to something cool, and the tourney was eh, and then having Gohan gain the strength to fight Buu (from what I believe was with a sword) and then he's incapacitated. Right then and there, I just got too tired of the whole "everyone gets stronger, fails, and only Goku can come and save the day". Yes, I know Gohan was the closer of the Cell Saga, which is why I like it so much, because it's not Goku having to be the one to save everyone and everyone else's purpose in life is to stall so Goku can rehabilitate/come back alive/play Chinese checkers/masturbate before he comes to save the day. Also, at that point, most of the other problems with the series, which really were already noticeable and recognized long before then, were no longer just funny and really became intolerable for a show that you could miss 5 episodes and still miss almost nothing at all (and I don't mean the recap parts at the beginning are anything amazing).
