Smoking

How many of us here on the boards are smokers?

I myself go through phases of smoking and not smoking. I don't find it hard to stop smoking at any given moment.

I will occassionally. Doesn't really bother me if I don't.

I don't see how you can get addicted to smoking. I smoked for several months each day and then stopped one day and had no cravings for them at all. I think some people just have really weak will power.

I don't really get what is so addictive about cigarettes, either.

I wouldn't say I'm addicted to smoking, but there are definitely cravings attatched to it. I go anywhere from 2-5 days quite often without having a cigarette, but the thought of wanting one does tend to invade my mind. It's not so much a physical feeling of needing a smoke but more of just wanting to. I'm not sure I would believe anyone that smokes if they said they've never felt that before.

I get the thought in the back of my mind saying that I want one but I can ignore that. I have friends that have to have a cigarette often or they start to get annoyed and easily agitated. Physically I have no changes to my behavior.

what's odd is i've never smoked in my life... but i get stressed really easily, and I always get the feeling that I need a cigarette... it doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Just try one.

also odd--i'm mildly allergic to cigarette smoke.... and STILL want to smoke.

so i'm not sure it'd work at all. ha

What is it you're allergic to in the cigarettes?

smoke... i'm allergic to all smoke, i guess... cigarettes seem to bother me more than a lot of stuff, though.
