In 2005 a family fell ill from Salmonella poisoning after eating at a KFC store in Villawood. The 7 year old girl in the family came off the worst when her salmonella poisoning developed into acquired spastic quadriplegia and acquired profound intellectual disability and liver dysfunction. The food at the KFC store was tested for the strain of salmonella that the family was infected with but tests came back negative and the KFC store says it wasn't their fault as no one else had fallen sick from eating there at the same time and the negative tests prove it wasn't a result of their food.
There is always a risk in eating at fast food stores in relation to the quality of the food and the hygiene levels of the kitchen but if you fall so severely ill why wait 4 years before you decide that you want to sue the company apparently responsible?
