internet providers!

I'm tired of getting ripped off by the local cable company. What options are out there for internet?? I'm okay with just canceling cable tv. i can deal with just having netflix, but i need the internetz to do homework and stuff. and to talk to you wonderful people, of course.


the only thing i really know of to look into is AT&T.... any suggestions?

I use comcast... When it is up it is fast, but it does go down maybe 1-2 times a month and always at the worst fuckin times.

Don't know what's available in your area, but I hear nothing but terrible things about AT&T and all things DSL.

I have Comcast too and it's good for the price, though my price is set to go up, but thankfully right around the time my lease is up as well.

yeah I have AT&T and I don't like it too much. Only bad thing I remember about comcast is there was an issue way back when after a certain WoW patch and comcast subscribers couldn't go online...but yeah

I'd stick to cable or upgrade to Verizon FIOS if it's in your area.

Isn't AT&T U-Verse cable? Pretty sure it is, or is just as fast. Definitely stay away from DSL though, that shit sucks.

Yeah I have the AT&T U-verse shit. It sucked at first because the cable guy messed some stuff up, but now it's alright and working well. My parents pay a reasonable price for it, I believe.

UVerse is fiber optic I think.

At the new crib, going with ATT over Timewarner. The neighbor thinks ATT is fine and plus it's cheap. I don't run anything heavy anyway and Time Warner is expensive and it's never as fast as advertised.

I'd get Uverse if it were avail but it'll be pointless anyway as I'm sticking with directv for television.

I use penisnet (i.e. Hughes Net).

You guys in the city have all the fun. Out here there's nothing but cow shit and satellite internet.
