Batman Comics

If I remember right C.Ghost collects Batman comics, or at least reads them. Since I've nearly finished off my Deadpool collection I think I'll start collecting Batman comics next. What are some good collections to get? I only own Year One at the moment and the Arkham City Prequel. I wouldn't mind getting some stand-alone collections first before I start collecting some of the long ongoing Batman collections.

More Miller is the obvious choice. Some Sale/Loeb stuff's good. The Killing Joke is another obvious. Chronicles vol. 1 should be had just to see where the Bat got his start. I personally enjoyed the piss out of Year 100.

Only have Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum. Both are awesome. I'm going for Hush and Miller's stuff next time around.

By comics I meant the graphic novels. I should have made that clear since comic refers to a single issue. I'll probably get the rest of Miller's stuff first.

Year One is good, I'd say maybe stay away from The Dark knight Strikes Again. I have it downloaded and I'm glad I didn't pay the money for it. Hush is pretty good, but the best Loeb batman is The Long Halloween. Dark Victory is pretty sweet too, about as good as Hush. I know Ab didn't like it, but I found myself enjoying The Cult quite a bit too even though it is a blatant rip off of The Dark Knight Returns except the writer (name escapes me) thought it'd be good to use a thesaurus. I personally enjoyed both of Kevin Smith's books, Cacophony and The Widening Gyre, I hope he finishes the trilogy off.

I picked up one a while back called Arkham Madness I think, it was done by Sam Kieth who did The Maxx which I'm sure most of you know. I thought it was alright, a little bit scatterbrained and a clear homage to Arkham Asylum, which is a must have. the one shot Joker by Brian Azarello or whatever his name is is also pretty sweet and I'd suggest getting that. A couple more good ones are The Man Who Laughs, Batman: Gothic (gotta love Grant Morrison) and the three Batman/Dracula comics. The latter of which are more just silly fun, but they're entertaining nonetheless. However I would suggest downloading them instead of buying them because I remember I was looking to buy them and htye were all ridiculously expensive.

As soon as I finish off my Deadpool collection I'll start looking into them all.

Depending on the size of the collection a graphic novel is between $18-30 down here if it's like a six issue collection. Larger collections can cost quite a lot more.
