| I've never heard 'quadratic' plane before in my entire life. It doesn't even really make sense since the only equations referred to as quadratics are second degree polynomials. | |

| No it doesn't make sense. A quadratic is completely different than a quadrant. | |

| and I remembered how to do quartiles really easily. Say this is my data set:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
I have 7 pieces of data, so I multiply the total number of data I have by whatever quartile I wish to find. IN this case it's the 25th:
7 * .25 = 1.75
this number corresponds to the piece of data you want. You always round up. So I get 2. This means I want the second piece of data, which also happens to be 2 (don't let this fool you). You can do this for whatever quartile you want, it's just using percentages in an abstract way. However, you must organize your data from smallest to greatest for this to work. This also only works if the numbers are not whole. Say instead of 1.75, we got 1 exactly. Then you'd take the first piece of data, and the piece of data immediately following, add them together and divide by two. Sya this is a data set:
1 2 3 4
4*.25 = 1
1+2 = 3/2 = 1.5
Q1 = 1.5 | |

| I seriously hate maths. Mainly because i can't understand numbers well. Subjects like history and English are easy to me but for some reason my brain doesn't handle numbers too well. I'll try and have a good go at the work tonight but i'm sure no-one else in my class will do it so i won't get into much shit when i fail to hand it in tomorrow. I'm sure my maths teacher will be relieved of his teaching duty to my class soon enough when the higher ups discover our poor marks and progress. | |

| If you don't actually start having a semblance of a decent attitude towards math you're never actually going to get better at it. | |

| I know, i need to get my attitude to improve. I'm not against learning maths its just that our teacher can't teach us properly, he expects us to be able to do it all on our own and well we can't and he doesn't assist us when we have trouble and my schools current maths faculty no longer has any really competent teachers. The two good teachers we had both got their transfers approved and they left early this year. If i had a teacher who could sit down and go through everything with my class step by step i'd be fine. | |

| yeah well that's the hand you're dealt sometimes. You're not making it any easier on yourself by getting frustrated with it. | |

| That is very true. Maths is one of those subjects where i need a teacher to sit down with me and explain things. I'm great in my other subjects as i can be left on my own and i can complete the work with no issues. My brain just doesn't get maths naturally. I'll put in some effort on the weekend where i can sit down and go over all the things i've missed lately. | |

| eh, it'll come. One of my math teachers was of the very firm belief that everyone can do math. I'm inclined to agree with him, some people just need an extra shove. | |

| Well i might actually be able to grasp the concept of my maths work now since we found out that our maths teacher had been teaching us from the wrong text book. The current head teacher of maths got so pissed off when she found this out, looks like our second maths teacher for the year might be going away. | |

| O.O
i'm of no help here.
i will never take another math class again until someone correctly explains to me how 1 can = 2. i just don't see it. look.
1 = 2
they did not warn me about stuff like that. | |
