~Academy Community Thread~

I think I read the sixth one but I payed little attention to it. I was a fan for the first four books and I lost interest just after the fifth came out. There's seven books all up isn't there?

I think I saw the first two movies when they came out in cinemas but I can't remember a thing about them.

yeah, there are 7 books. i didn't really get into them until after the 4th was already out.

and i'm not too crazy about the first 2 movies (or books, really), myself.

I only started reading them because of that crap we had to do in middle school. We had to read books from an approved list and then take tests on them.

Same here. I ignored them until someone bought the first four books for me one Christmas. They're okay but they don't grab my attention.

I don't think I could ever sit down and watch all the movies. I'm pretty fussy when it comes to sitting down and watching a movie.

I'm a harry potter nerd. I'm okay with it, too.
I was catching up with someone I went to highschool with who moved here... He used "stupefy" in a regular sentence, and I though I'd die laughing.


I encourage everyone to read them, but I do know not everyone will like them... I did convince my brother to watch the movies. I thought that was an accomplishment. He even liked them!

I love all of the Harry Potter books, but I'm not interested in the movie series. I've seen the first four movies, and I kind of liked the second and third ones, but I can't see the movie series getting any better, or at least remaining tolerable with how much material they have to change/edit. I also was disappointed when I found that Peeves, who was one of my favorite characters in the book series, was absolutely nowhere to be found in the movies

Peeves was the ghost of whatever club that Harry belonged to wasn't he? Or was he the ghost that kept playing tricks on everyone?

Peeves played tricks on everyone. Also Zach, there weren't that many changes in the first few movies, but some stuff was changed around/removed, like the entire Quidditch match in the fourth movie. And I read online a few weeks ago about a bunch of stuff that would be changed around in the last few movies, which seemed disappointing.

I really hated that Ludo Bagman was NEVER brought into the 4th movie... or how Barty Crouch JR got out of azkaban.

and the fifth movie left a lot to be desired, in my opinion.


i still enjoy them anyway!

I need to get a record player. Seriously. Thinking about buying a vinyl right now because I can't find the album on cd.

i haven't been home in so long... Luckily Tommy is rarely there these days so it's usually not too bad when I do.

I've had like no sleep. I'm about to go lay in bed and pass the fuck out.

i slept a good 9 hours.

first time i've slept past 1 PM this summer. damn.

I have a sesame street record player.

I think I might go to Subway and get a chicken sub. Then play some Lego Indiana Jones.

Seriously, Ludo Bagman isn't in the fourth movie? I completely forgot about that. That sucks


Regardless of how I feel about the movies, I guess I'm seeing the sixth movie with my mom and some family friends tomorrow, after class. I hope it's at least better than the fourth movie (I never saw the fifth).

i actually liked the fourth movie, even without ludo.

i just ordered my ticket for saturday night.

i'm on the last chapter of the sixth book. getting pretty pumped! haha

re-reading, though. it's almost as awesome even if it is at least the 3rd time around.
it's still very thrilling.
