I prefer countertops.

Desktops have the option for better speakers, bigger and better monitors, more space for many goodies to be added, a mouse, a keyboard that doesn't suck, etc., etc. Sure, you could hook up a mouse and speakers and all that to a laptop, but what's the point? Why not just get a desktop? Particularly when you can get a much better computer for a much cheaper price than you'd pay for a laptop.

That and I have no need for one, really. Maybe if I went to school, sure, but otherwise I'm more than comfortable with sitting on my ass at a desktop.

Plus it's more fun to build a desktop than a laptop.
