I haven't had much experience with black metal bands. Only one that i have really listened to is Cradle Of Filth, although i don't think any of their new material falls into the black metal genre much anymore.

I'd say only their first few would.

They're a death metal band. Um... it's kind of like a cleaner and more technical version of Devourment. They also use high pitch screaming... so it's not all the low gurgling type growls.

The Benighted cd was just bad quality and a bit bad... the rest of their stuff is top notch, though.
And the Wolves In The Throne Room... I like them just fine. It's just not the kind of stuff I want to listen to on the go.

I prefer having grindcore songs on my i-pod when i know that i'm going to be on the go all day. Keeps me energetic.
