| Sennheiser CX300-B, they're some pretty good quality earbuds. I've never cared enough about headphones to bother with getting the big ones that fit over your head, even though I do have a decent pair of Sennheiser ones that I play my digital piano with.
I just couldn't bring myself to walk around in public with something like that, and when I walk they get caught up in my hair anyways.

| If you've got good speakers, use them. Or some people don't like having them on all the time. I don't... but sometimes I just have to put them on. And at least it's a lovely sound when I do. | |

| Coming from an impoverished student, I've never had a solution that surpassed a quality pair of headphones, not to mention the space to crank it without appeals to authority. | |

This confuses me. Are headphones not your preferred option for teh musicking? "Never have to" implying that I'm never in places or situations where headphones are advantageous/allowed. When I was a student and doing things like walking to class, being in the library, doing video editing and audio mixing (duh, lol), etc., I'd use them a bunch. Or when I had that cleaner job and we often had long car rides, sometimes at night or after long days where everybody but the driver would sleep (well, sometimes the driver would sleep too lol), I'd listen to my music instead of those retards chew on fast food and talk about bullshit. But headphones aren't at all my preferred method of listening to music, despite it often being one of the better cost-effective ways to have good sound quality and the whole "hearing things in records that you never even knew were there" blah blah bullshit. Most my music listening is in my car to and from work and other places, or just through my stereo speakers or computer speakers. It's still nice to have my headphones nowadays though for things like plane rides and long car rides (if I'm ever not the driver, which is rare), but yeah, I rarely use them.

I've really had to use a lot of self control not to post your icon after quoting you numerous times. It's really, really hard for me not to. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| I don't turn my earbuds up very loud. More for fear of messing the speakers up. But nah, it won't really mess up your hearing unless you've got it really loud or there is a sudden burst of loudness. | |

| OK, i'm finally with my headphones again (moving, halfway anyway) and mine ARE HD280s. Small world. Great affordable set. Tanz got a pair too, I recall. These sound good and take shit physically, sound and my son tearing the cosmetics out of them. Good call. Yes, I have cheaper headphones abound for work and harsh situations and shit, many backup pairs. | |
