| I thought at first my Honda's service warnings were also just based on mileage, but it turns out that it actually measures the oil level and viscosity | |

| My Honda takes 5w20. Really thin shit. High compression motor. My Mom had a 08 Accord V6 and it's like yours, rz. So 08 was the first year. Yup: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The current gen Civics (8th generation too) and Accords kick so much ass. The V6 Accord she had went 0-60 in 6.2ish seconds and got 30mpg on the highway. I think the only other car that can beat that fuel ecomomy/speedy combo is the new Mustang V6, at least on paper. Haven't drove one. | |

teehee. I thought the nice service station attendant was hitting on me when he told me the coolant in my reservoir was low and he could top it off for me......until he charged me $3 for that. hahaha As for car warnings and lights, mine have never come on.... except for my gas light. And that makes me nervous because I don't know at what point it comes on--1 gallon of gas left? .5 gallon? 2? IDK!

| Coolant is cheap. That dude was a cheapskate, unless you were significantly low.
I think most gas lights come on with 2 gallons left.
The old Buick was crazy with the fuel light. It had fuel range and if i was driving soft or on the highway. The light would come on with 100 miles left. With 40 miles left, I didn't think the needle can move more to the left. Deceiving. The needle moved on turns and up/down hill too.

| I wish my car had one of those "X miles to empty" type-deals just to give me an idea. I typically panic and get more gas asap. | |

| Yeah, it's pretty awesome.
I'm going over to my dad's house tonight. Just packed up my guitar, pedals, and amp. I told him I'd help him tune his and what not. He's bought various guitars over the years but still doesn't know how to play. And I'm going to be recording all day tomorrow. So I figured I'd go over there tonight and I need all my equipment unplugged and ready to move anyway.

| Man the labor on the car was 3 times the amount of the parts. I got a long list of fixes I need. I 'll have to see if my insurance will cover some of this because these prices are outrageous. | |

| I was surprised they didn't try to sell me an air filter. That might be the first time I've ever gotten an oil change at one of those "rapid lube" places (which makes me giggle anyway) and haven't been told "OMG YOU NEED A NEW FILTER. WE SELL YOU ONE?!?!" I never, ever buy one.
Next goal: get tires rotated.

Next goal: get tires rotated. You should, at some point. Or at least get your's cleaned. Buying a new one would be better now though depending on how old it is. A clean air filter will help your car run better, cleaner, and longer, and will help with gas mileage as well.

| How often would you suggest getting a new one?
My old car probably needed one pretty bad, but we just kept cleaning it.
This car... they tried to sell me one about 3 months after I got it (NEW lol), so nooo way. Gateway never mentioned it. So I just KNEW they'd say something today. I figure they'd say something if it were bad. When they suggest it, I do get some man-type person in my life to look at it.

| I think they get replaced like 12k miles or something but if it's excessively dirty (easy/cheap to check/replace), I'd get a new one. I use K&N cone type filters instead of flat ones. That's a hell of a list, Blooge. German cars... | |

Uhh I dunno any time/mileage frame on replacing, I always just look at how dirty is. My car actually has an aftermark air filter system in so an air filter for me is kind of expensive, so I usually just clean it.
