What video games are you guys playing nowadays?

As soon as Super Adventure Island arrives I'm putting Far Cry 3 on hold to play through it.  Which apparently should take about 30 minutes

Never played Halo 4. My flashed 360 was out of date by the time that rolled around and I didn't want to get it banned. Might play it this summer though. The 360 is collecting dust anyway, so it wouldn't be too big of a problem if it broke down. Then I could get a flashed slim and be set.


Currently, I'm going through South Park, which I waited getting till easter break. It's been a blast so far. Combat system is hella-fun (in an overly complicated yet totally simplistic way), writing is awesome and fittingly meta, fan-service is just right. Might be the best licensed game this side of Arkham. Haven't been making too much progress since I've been wandering around doing sidequests. Got (metaphorically) raped by Al Gore yesterday, though. 1600hp + secret service? wtf...

Also started Borderlands 2 last week while waiting for SP, and it seemed really promising.

Got to the final month of Persona 3, and kept getting insta-killed by the dumb enemies while trying to grind for the final boss.  What were they thinking?  *Encounter starts*  *Enemy casts instant kill spell on the entire party*  *Flip a coin to see who dies*  So I gave up on it.  At some point it just isn't worth it.

Been trying to get copies of Pocky and Rocky and R-Type III since last fall, but that shit is ridiculous.  Both are climbing in price like crazy, and anytime I do bid, I always get sniped. But I did get a copy of Rock n Roll Racing locally the other day. Credit + $5

A local pawn shop has R-Type III for $65.

Was rocking this game the other week. Pretty damn spiffy. Needs some harder difficulty modes, though.

I'm preparing for all the post endgame content which is a bunch of bullshit. I finally got all of the ultimate weapons which was a total pain. I'm pushing the 100 hour mark and I'm still pretty far away from being able to 100% the game.

Got Demon's Crest in today. Damn that's a hard game. I got to an ice level and there is a wolf for the boss. Kicked my ass. I figured it was time to call it quits for the damn.

DC's not that tough once you get used to it. It's a lot easier than the main series it's based on at any rate.

It's also all about using the right crests for the appropriate areas and bosses.

Now the final final FINAL boss that's actually a secret boss, that's pretty tough. The last story boss is also damned difficult, but once you have the patterns down, it's mostly about endurance (how long can you hold out doing patterns in a somewhat complicated sequence and getting only a few hits in each opening).

Yeah... I made it to Phalanx. Got to the final form and it just kicked my ass. I never really used any spells. Are they useful?

I don't remember if I ever used spells much. Maybe I did. I'm sure they come in handy against Phalanx because I'm pretty sure they raise your offense, etc.

Blah, just got sniped again on Sunset Riders.  That, Pocky & Rocky, and R-Type III, repeatedly taunt me. There's even a SR in town locally, but it's $60 and cash only. Lame.

Beat Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon the other day, and started Tomb Raider, which is pretty sweet.  I had already liked the previous three newer installments, but this one is even better.

So, Ab... my work ended up not giving me my vacation pay so I got shorted like $200 this week. I still want to buy those games from you but it's looking like I can't do it this week either. If you want to sell it elsewhere, I'd understand. Assuming they actually give me my back pay next week like they said they would, I'd be able to do it then.

I'll hold on. I doubt I'd get very much selling to a local shop.

Looks like a rad place. And I thought Toyriffic in Maplewood, MN was a bit overwhelming with the amount of games and stuff they have.

Best part is it's mostly all stuff you can grab and touch. Toyriffic has most of their Super NES games enclosed in glass, sadly. Hard to find a game if you can't flip through the rows.
