What video games are you guys playing nowadays?

I've got a few of those.  I think less than 10.  SNES isn't my main console... but I will say MMPR on SNES is fucking awesome.  I still have my original box and the manual is back in MS.  

And I've been playing the fuck out of Super Punch-Out!!.  I never really liked this game.  I've bought it on VC twice and played it there and through emulation.  Not until owning a cart did it click with me.  And I fucking love it.  Punch-Out!! on NES was fun and addictive... the difficulty and smooth animations (because it makes it harder to read the fighters' tells) turned me off.  But sitting down with the real cart and learning this shit?  Man, I've been having a blast.

I guess these days I'm a Smash Bros, Destiny or Dragon Age Inquisition guy. I plan to jump back into the Mass Effect Trilogy in a little bit but until then I got raids to do in Destiny.

What can you fuckers tell me about Epic Mickey? I think Loxx is the only one who's played any. I used to love 3D platformers, particularly the N64 ones by Rare, so I was wondering if these are pretty good. Bear in mind that I think the much-heralded Rayman 2 is really kinda shitty; maybe if I hadn't played it on N64...

I ask because Epic Mickey 2 on Wii U was ten bucks at Woolmart.

I think the Epic Mickey games are pretty terrible. It's filled with boring fetch quests and a lot of hand holding... I never even beat the first one... one of the few Wii games I actually sold. The second I played for about 5 minutes before turning off. I mean... any 'new' game for $10 isn't a bad deal, but I'd say only get it if you're really curious or want to bump up the number of your collection. Epic Mickey is okay at best. Had a great premise but failed miserably in it's execution.

And possy, I've been playing the shit out of Smash WiiU.

I'll just avoid it then. I had it in my hand, read part of a Eurogamer review, they said it was shit, you said it was shit, so I'll just leave that be.

But damn, where did all the mascot-heavy 3D platformers go? The Super Mario 3D Land/World games kinda fit the bill, but I can't think of any others that have come out recently. I feel they were getting kinda boring during the PS2 era; never really liked Jak 2 despite how many hours I plugged into it, there was just too much to do and not enough focus on really, really fun stuff.

I think the first Epic Mickey was supposed to be the good one.

lol I used to do that thing in Mario World where you trade lives on the map screen and I'd steal a ton of 'em.

If you really want to piss someone off play as Nabbit in New Super Lugi U. You'll rack up a ton of lives while they'll suffer with nothing.
