FUCK, I'm so bored. I have a few things I could do, but my lack of motivation is somehow managing to even outweigh my boredom.

What a bad night.

So the snowpocalypse didn't turn out too bad, get to work from home today. I might venture out at some point and see all the retards drive badly.

i will be calling into work tonight my car has no chance of making it especially since i go on the frozen back roads to get there. Last time wasnt as bad because the temp was 34 so it was just slush the temp is under 20 so everything is ice

My university is having rolling blackouts but classes are still on normal schedule.

That sucks, man. It's 70 over here, only the 90 lb. freshies women are wearing sweatshirts of any kind. Tropical weather is the best......despite the fact that I would love to live in 2 feet of snow for at least a week.

Tropical weather and tropical storms. Aww yeah baby. Hurricanes and such would keep me from living in Florida. It's not like you're always going to get hit with them... but I wouldn't want it to happen even once. Still, I'm sure there are areas that would be pretty unaffected.

You do live in Miss Issippee, so you'll still have to deal with Hurricanes. Maybe not to the same intensity as they'll lose power the further they move away from the water but it's stilla violent storm for you.

And it's not really as terrible. If a category 5 does hit an area, like Hurricane Andrew did Miami, but those storms rarely get to touch down. The Carribeans and the fellow island nations take the full brunt of the storms, but it acts as a buffer for Florida. We have to worry more about flooding from the surges, but Florida is practically an aquifer, almost all the flooding just sinks. In general it's just not that terrible. When you do have a bad one though, obviously that's terrible, but everywhere on the east coast can get hit by it. Just don't live in Miami.

Yeah, heavy rains are pretty much the most we get this way from hurricanes. But doesn't even a little bit of flooding ruin carpet and all that kind of stuff? Even a little bit of damage that I would have to replace sucks. We don't really get much flooding in this area which I'm thankful for.

What will I have to look out for in Washington? ha

Yeah but the houses are meant to work through it. Plus, tile and laminet flooring have been the in thing (or very thin carpets) so the actually damage to that wont be as catastrophic.


Plus walking outside at dusk with the eye of a level 2-3 hurricane over your area is one of the most surreal visuals and feelings in the world. The colors that you see.

I know a camera (most people's cameras at least) would not effectively capture that, but I'd be interested in seeing a picture of that!

When I was little, my family would take our vacation to FL/coast when a hurricane was due to hit. You can get some AWESOME hotel rates on the beach when everyone else is too scared to be there.

The only bad thing is that when the power goes out, the only areas you can hit up for food are the restaurants with generators. Namely this one terrible chinese place, who probably pray for hurricanes every summer/early fall just so they can make some sort of profit.

I need to listen to my Lifelover too. I finally got around to listening to that Les Discrets album though. It was really good.

Listening to Lifelover now. So far it's better than the few songs I'd heard before. Can't say I really like this vocalist, but I'll get over it. Okay... the vocals on this song are better.
