| Look at the SMT games for DS. Most are <$20, yet Strange Journey goes for $50. Very hard to predict which niche titles are higher demand + lower print
...other than Fire Emblem games which become uniformly rare, apparently. Nintendo clearly hasn't figured out how to capitalize on that property.

| I started the Dead Money DLC for New Vegas yesterday. I really didn't care for Honest Hearts very much, but so far I'm really liking this. I feel like it might get repetitive eventually, but so far at least I'm enjoying the pace of the gameplay here. I like being stealthy, so this is cool [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I hope this succeeds; region-locking is one of the main things I dislike about Nintendo today. | |

...other than Fire Emblem games which become uniformly rare, apparently. Nintendo clearly hasn't figured out how to capitalize on that property. I just went to Goose Stop today and was complaining the whole time in my head over this stupid video game monopoly and how stupid the Nintendo Wii video game cases are. Tales of Graces f was 40$ used....the same fucking price it was MONTHS AGO. I get that it's 40$ on the internet, but come the fuck on and lower the price at this stupid chain. They had Pandora's Tower for 30$ new. Seemed like a deal to me, but that's what Amazon is charging too. It's fucking impossible to shop for wii games because there are so many. Goose stop has them all to the side and all wii games are in that typical white case so it's impossible to differentiate them from one another unless you squint at each title for a couple of seconds. None of the cases stand out so I don't even bother looking for the harder to find games that they probably do have. SJ has been super easy for me to find lately. Has been 15-20$ at gamestops along with the CD. Devil Survivors all are affordable minus Overclocked (I'm still upset over how I have DS and DS 2, but I will not be buying their complete editions). I'd love to find one of the console FE games for a decent price, but that's not going to happen... Awakening is still 40$ at G$. Was hoping to find Code of Princess, but it seemed to be the ONLY 3DS title they didn't have there...The video game market is really pissing me off lately. The lack of competition between gamestop and another video game chain makes it so you have to just spend all day every day on cheapassgamer hoping to find a deal. Project X Zone comes out tomorrow, Dragon's Crown comes out somewhat soon, SMT IV comes out soon, NIS has a whole bunch of great looking games on the way, and the Class of Heroes 2 physical has to be coming soon. EDIT: I ended up paying under 40$ if I remember correctly for my SMT IV pre-order. Newegg or Fry's had a special code for a pretty srs discount. What Atlus is doing is selling the game for 50$ for the first run of the game. All the first run copies are a bundle with a strategy guide/artbook, and soundtrack CD. After the first run copies are totally gone through they'll have the next runs be 40$ and without all the goodies. I'm more than OK with that

| Tomb Raider is on sale on Gamersgate for $17 I bought the Survival Edition, along with the Tomb of the Lost Adventurer DLC. I haven't been into a Gamestop in awhile; I think the last time I went was early this year, when I bought the Midway Arcade Collection for the 360 on a whim. I've sometimes found good deals there for old used games, but I don't generally buy new games there. | |

| Some and mrs shrike are playing through ffv co op. I actually never finished any of the pre vi ffs, as i got really bored of the insane amount of random battles in most of them. However, ffv is the only one besides ffvi and ffix that has co op combat so we decided to play through it. Surprisingly entertaining so far, though the graphics are waaaaay boring compared to ffvi/ct or any of the other late era snes games.
Anyway, we got to karnak castle and the countdown timer, but we didn't really have an idea how much battling and how long it'd take to get to the gates. So we roam for a while trying out treasure chests, most being filled with monsters. Then when the timer is down to two minutes we bolt for the gates. But then some enemies jump on us and we're fighting. The timer goes down to 1 minute, the music speeda up, and all of a sudden the enemies turn out to be some kind of miniboss with lots of hp. So when we beat him the timer is like 9 seconds, by time we pickedup the treasure it was down to three... And we still had a little bit to go to exit the castle. So we're both freaking and I'm in problem solving mode telling her to "just hold circle and fucking run straight out!"
As the timer goes down to 0.01 the screen goes black and we see a cinematic of the castle exploding, none sure of whether we made it. But we did, as the following cut scene showed.
Good times. | |

| I've never played V, but IV is amazing in my opinion. Sure, it's old school (i.e. lots of battles and grinding), but I guess I've never had a big problem with that. IV and VI are the only ones I've ever gone all of the way through on. | |

| I usually have a hard time with the old school RPGs. Playing through Lunar right now, and the urge to switch to Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is overwhelming. But I know once I put it down I won't pick it back up | |

| Lunar is good. I always wanted to play the second one, but never had the chance. Hell, Lunar is one of those RPG's that I played the entire thing in Japanese. Yes, I'm one of those psychos that has beaten a large number of RPGs in a language I can't understand. Many without help from a walkthrough/guide. | |

| I beat the Dead Money DLC for Fallout: New Vegas. It was pretty neat. I really love the story and character development in it; the companions you get in it are some of my favorites in the entire Fallout series. I also found the gameplay to be engaging, although in the end it got a little too easy. I ended up stockpiling so much ammo, I had to leave some of it behind when leaving at the end of the DLC. | |

| I beat MegaMan 4 for the first time since high school last night. Started up MegaMan 3 again. Some of those levels are bitches without Rush Adaptors. | |

Not having finished IV is like my most shameful gaming secret. I just couldn't bear the constant random battling, and unlike FFVI, the graphics didn't really do anything for me (FFVI is gorgeous with all its dynamic environments). As for FFV, the job system is fun (if a bit overwhelming), and the game is pretty fast paced, with well sized (ie. not too long) dungeons. Challenging bosses, but still with clear way to win if you just use some tactics. Some really bitchy stuff though: instant death from level 5 doom from one dungeon enemy (and this is INSTANT, not like the countdown-have-time-to-flee-doom you see in other FFs). But overall it has a nice balance of balanced encounters as well as more challenging ones. The co-op is kinda hampered by all the job switching though, menu crawling isn't too fun to do in co op.

| I'd previously not backed Armikrog because I didn't want to support Doug TenNapel, but then there are probably lots of people whose products I've bought, who had views I didn't agree with. Also it's not like he'd be using his money specifically to back organizations I have a problem with like Orson Card, so I think I might make a pledge to this. | |

| TenNapel is only one developer anyway. There are other artists, animators, and programmers from past games who have a bigger role than he does. | |

Yeah, that's another factor to consider as well. - Hollow_Viscus wrote:

Yeah; I didn't think it was necessary to type out his full name - Abnormal Freak wrote:

6 hours to go. It says 9 hours here in California I pledged to the "early" backer tier, which had 4 slots left. Now it has three
