| I don't have the game itself; I've just looked at the tracklisting online I wonder if there's a way to have custom music in the Saints Row games on PC, come to think of it. I listened to my own music a lot in the first Saints Row on 360, but when I played 2 on PC, I couldn't find a way to play my own music from my computer in the game. It didn't matter too much because 2's soundtrack I liked more than the first game's, but I hope it's an option in the PC versions of The Third and IV. IV in particular, since that doesn't even have a metal station, and when I get around to playing it, I want to be able to listen to metal if I so choose | |

| Just mute the music in the game and have an audio player playing in the background. That's what I do. | |

| I beat Gears of War: Judgement. I should have jumped into the game on the hardcore difficulty instead of normal to stretch out my playing time. I'll go back to it and play it on higher difficulties at some point.
Started playing Dead Space 3.

| I just beat Red Dead Redemption a few hours ago. I thought it was an interesting game, with some surprisingly good writing at times, though the experience was unfortunately marred somewhat by the clunky controls and the poor-quality in-game tutorial prompts. I'd prefer a clearer, more distinct tutorial in place of the paragraph-sized word dumps the game shoves off into a corner concurrently with the action. Having to go through so much trouble just to figure out how to interact with the game is much more immersion-breaking than a standard tutorial ever could have been. | |

| My gaming lately has been with how awesome some features of the Wii U are, lololo. I love playing Virtual Console games upscaled to 1080p. They also did an update where Wii/VC games are playable on the GamePad screen, and are automatically set to 4:3 (FIIIIINALLY). Can't actually use the GamePad as a controller though, so I hope that's in a future update.
Anyway, nabbed ActRaiser on VC, been playing that since I've had a hankering for a few months.

| I started playing Phantasy Star again, after a couple years of not playing it. I didn't make much progress at all; I hadn't even gotten my first party member the last time I played the game. I did grind up to level 9 though, which saves me a lot of time today I'm at level 10 at the moment, and I finally got my first additional member for the party, after some trading and light infiltration. So far Phantasy Star is pretty neat. Like with the only other really old JRPG I've played, Dragon Warrior, I'm having to take a lot of notes on what people in towns say, which is an additional game-related task I finally felt like putting up with again I'm not enjoying mapping out the first-person dungeons though. The sense of perspective is really screwy in Phantasy Star's dungeons, and it's way too easy for me to accidentally add an extra square in a tunnel I'm mapping that isn't actually there, and thus screws up the map I'm making. I end up having to tediously pace back and forth, making sure just to count how many squares I move, so that I can get an accurate map going. I may just print up some maps other people have made online, though I can see myself continuing to take my own notes for the time being. | |

Also, still plugging away at Devil Survivor Overclocked, which I'm having a lot of fun with. Once I catch up on all my current gen games, I'll definitely have my eye on Devil Summoner and SMT IV

| Playing more Phantasy Star, and suddenly I came across a hole in the dungeon, which dropped me down a floor. Then I found another one immediately afterward. Ugh, this is going to take forever to beat. Fuck! | |

| I'm playing Alien Breed on the PC and Pokemon Black on my DS at the moment.
I feel like starting up Resonance of Fate on the 360 but I might wait until I have most of my lessons for prac set before I get stuck into another RPG.

| I finally finished mapping out the Iala Cave! It was a pain in the ass to map. I got lost numerous times, and had to start up maps for a floor I had fallen into, only to erase/transfer my progress when I realized I had already mapped out part of that floor in the past. Fortunately, I just looked at some online maps for the Iala Cave, and the maps I made seem to be just about perfect, which I am definitely happy about! This is only the second major dungeon I've entered so far though, which makes me worry about how much harder the other dungeons might be. | |

| Yesterday, Resident Evil 6 was on sale for 75% off on Steam. I admit, I was tempted But I still didn't feel like getting it at that price. EDIT: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Surgeon Simulator 2013 is now on GOG! I'm curious as to if it includes the Team Fortress 2 content or not. | |

The original Phantasy Star is the only one I've never played, but I've beaten all of the other ones multiple times. But yeah, the first PS is the only one in first person and all of the others have a more traditional perspective. If the dungeons on 2 are any indication, though, the game will drive you crazy but still be incredibly rewarding. I'd probably say that 2 is my favorite classic RPG, and its difficulty makes everything from today appear incredibly simple in comparison, especially if you play an original version without state saves. Are you playing a PS version with or without state saves?

Are you playing a PS version with or without state saves? I'm playing Phantasy Star through Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS3, so I technically have access to save states, but I haven't used them to my advantage in any way as of yet. All I've done with them is occasionally make a save state after saving in-game, so as to ensure my save doesn't get accidentally erased. I was definitely tempted to make save states when trying to map around some of the pits in the dungeon, but I resisted the urge; electing instead to fight my way back up to the floor I was at, and mapping everything the hard way I've heard that, despite not having first-person dungeons, that the dungeons in Phantasy Star 2 are even more confusing than the first game's. I'm already planning on mapping them out as well when I play it I don't want to risk getting lost in them. _____________________ In Phantasy Star, I just cleared the Naula Cave, where for some odd reason I - Spoiler:
bought a cake in a cake shop on the fourth floor
. From the notes I've taken so far, I assume this will be important, so I'm glad I have this out of the way. Fortunately, the Naula Cave was a million times easier to explore than the Iala Cave; perhaps because the Iala Cave is optional from what I can tell. EDIT: Apparently I'm overleveled at the moment; - Spoiler:
after presenting the shortcake to Motavia's Governor, he gave me directions to Noah, and let me sleep at his palace place thing. While sleeping though, I had a nightmare where a "Saccubus" attacked me. Apparently the player is not supposed to be able to win against the Saccubus, but I'm high enough level (Alis is 19, while Myau and Odin are both 17) that I was able to beat it. It was still easily the hardest battle I've faced so far, but not so hard that I was at risk of losing. Since the game wasn't expecting me to win apparently, I only earned 10xp
Oh well. I guess all of that mapping I've been doing has given me something to do in place of just running back and forth, grinding mindlessly to get to where I am

| I've been playing Phantasy Star 2 on my phone (I had previous attempts on PC and GBA) and I'm only on the 3rd dungeon. Every time I come back to it, I have to warp out and start over so that I can get oriented. And then I wander back in and hope I make it to the destination floor through sheer luck. And then something wipes out my party in one battle and I'm back to square one
I don't recall, but I must of used guides for PS1's dungeons. Especially near the end where the floor pits make shit really confusing
Couple missions into Dishonored right now, and I'm really enjoying it. Kinda like a Steampunk version of Bioshock with an emphasis on stealth.

| I'm approaching the end of SMT IV. I was shooting for neutral ending, but I fucked up and was too neutral to get neutral (at the end you're forced to pick between law and chaos options and if you're too neutral it makes you locked into whichever you pick). Decided to go chaos, but I'm already really wishing I managed to get neutral on my first playthrough.
Dragon's Crown though has been insanely fun for me. I've never been big on brawlers, but this game is just as great as it looked like it would be. Have been doing online and enjoying it even though some people have real shit connections. Did couch co-op today and it was leagues better than any arcade brawler I've played before. That includes those TMNT and Simpsons games.

I guess that's not too surprising, but I didn't think Sega would have brought any of the Phantasy Star games to them. Dishonored is one of many games in my backlog From what I've heard, it seems pretty awesome.
